Big announcement out of Universal Studios Orlando! They are expanding their resorts to 5!!!
The new resort will be called Sapphire Falls. When I heard this I thought, what a pretty name, and when I saw the artwork of how the resort should look it really did suit the name.
The resort will be part of the Loews Hotel chain and will join the other hotels of the Universal Orlando® Resort:
Loew’s Royal Pacific Resort – Deluxe Hotel
Hard Rock Hotel® – Deluxe Hotel
Loew’s Portofino Bay Hotel – Deluxe Hotel
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort – Moderate/Value Hotel – Which opened in 2014
Sapphire Falls which will be situated opposite Cabana Bay is already under construction. Sapphire Falls will have a Caribbean feel with tropical rivers and mesmerizing waterfalls. The site will contain 1000 rooms and 77 suites bringing the total number of rooms in Universal Orlando® Resort to 5200.
There has been confirmation that guests staying at this resort will be able to benefit from early admissions into Universal Studios Orlando, and also there will be a direct link to the Royal Pacific Resort via an air conditioned tunnel so guests can go to and from in comfort.
No information yet on rates. Universal will be looking at the current climate, however, there are talks that the pricing will be between that of Cabana Bay and Royal Pacific.
Sapphire Falls is set to open sometime in 2016. Exact dates have not yet been released, however, reservations will be able to be made in Spring 2015.
