If you’ve ever been wandering through Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you’ve probably passed by what looks like the entrance to a movie theater with a cool car in the front on Commissary Lane. It’s called the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.
When you enter the building you are greeted by what looks like the backstage area of a soundstage. In true Disney fashion, make sure to look all around as there is a lot to see up, down, and side to side. When it is your turn to be seated you will be taken around to the side of the “soundstage” and then you will enter the main dining area. This area looks just like an old drive in movie theater complete with “cars” to eat in and a “concession stand” towards the back with tables to eat at.
Have a seat, get comfortable, and enjoy the old sci-fi movies and concession commercials playing on the big screen. It’s not full length movies and you may end up seeing the same thing twice throughout your visit.
As for the food (since this is a food review). It’s great! My husband always enjoys the Famous All American Picnic Burger (minus the sauerkraut and onions)
I am a sucker for a good burger and am a creature of habit so I have always ordered the Build-Your-Own Angus Chuck Burger with cheddar cheese. It has been delicious every time I’ve gotten it.
My mother in law has had the Reuben (which I unfortunately do not have a picture of) but she has said that it was good. The kids meals are similar to most other Disney restaurants.
The Red Velvet Cheesecake we had was really good, although I think it has since been taken off the menu.
I can’t forget my absolute favorite thing from here! The Orbiting Oreos Milkshake! OMG! (Yes, I said it, OMG!) Its Ice Cream, Oreos, and Godiva Liqueur so what could be better!? For your viewing a pleasure is a picture with the flash and without. I love the glow in the dark cube!
My family loves Sci-Fi, but I will say this, it has very low lighting in the building (we are supposed to be at a drive in theater at night after all) so it can be hard to read the menu, even with the lighting under the “dash” of your car/table. We have always had fantastic luck making a reservation for lunch at about 11am. It’s a great way to break up the day a little and if you are in Florida during the warmer months (as most of them are) then this is a great place to escape the heat!

I took my parents to the Sci-Fi Dine In and they LOVED it! They said it took them back to being kids in the 1950’s. They are already talking about planning another trip and making sure to dine at the Sci-Fi! I had the buffalo popcorn chicken and it was fabulous!

Hah! I think my kids would eat dinner better if we could eat in a car like this!
