Guests planning a non-park day at the Walt Disney World Resort should consider spending a day out on the water. There are a variety of different rental boat options available at the Walt Disney World Resort, including pontoon boats, canoes and kayaks. The best way to see the sights is by renting Sea Raycers in Disney. In my mind there’s no better way to explore the waterways than via this mini-speedboat.
Go, Sea Raycer! Boat Details
With a Sea Racyer Guests have the option to either putter along the waterways or push the Sea Raycer to its max speed. Those that choose to put the pedal to the metal will find that these little boats can reach a maximum speed of nearly 20 mph. That doesn’t sound that fast, however, it can be an exhilarating ride. My husband, who is usually at the helm when we rent our Sea Raycer, doesn’t shy away from doing donuts on Seven Seas Lagoon. I know I wouldn’t be half as daring if I were the driver!
Families with older tweens will be happy to hear that their aspiring drivers can pilot their own boat –as long as they are at least 12 years old and a minimum of 5 feet tall. Drivers ages 12 to 17 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a release. Guests younger than 12 must ride as passenger and are not allowed to drive the watercraft.
DIStracted Tip: The Sea Raycer can seat up to two people with a combined weight limit of 320 pounds. This may be a tight squeeze for two adults. Pairing a younger child with either an adult or older child may be the better approach. This will not only insure comfort but also a faster ride. Go, Sea Raycer, go!

Guests can opt to rent at the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, however I would recommend renting at a Magic Kingdom area resort. Not only is there a lot more to see (don’t forget to peak at the defunct Discovery Island!) drivers can also use the larger area to go full throttle.
