Season of the Force Will Replace Star Wars Weekends in 2016?

WDW News Today is reporting that the new Star Wars event Season of the Force will replace the very popular Star Wars Weekends in 2016. I haven’t seen anything official confirming this yet, so as of now we’ll say it’s a rumor… But I wouldn’t be surprised if we see announcement soon.

Disney Parks Blog announced the debut date for Star Wars: Season of the Force for Disneyland Resort last week, but nothing for Walt Disney World…

Well according to a couple of reports, including WDW News Today, Season of the Force will be opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios January 8, 2016 and will continue to run through March 20, 2016. During this limited time event there will be special themed food and drinks (may be even some blue milk!) and of course limited edition merchandise.

Guests will also be treated to a special weekend only fireworks show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights during the Season of the Force.

As with Disneyland Resort, there will be a new scene added to Star Tours – The Adventure Continues inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens film and the Star Wars Launch Bay attraction will also be open.

There has not been any official word from Disney Parks regarding this news, so until there is these are to be viewed as rumors!
