Updated 2/5/2015- Could this be even be further confirmation? During an interview with Bloomberg Television, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger said quote: “It’s safe to say that you’ll see a lot more ‘Star Wars’ at Disney and at Disney parks in the near future.” (mynews13.com)
We recently reported that rumors are swirling about changes coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and now it looks like a few more of our favorites might be in jeopardy of disappearing!
WDW News Today is reporting new rumors about the demolition of the Echo Lake area as soon as March 2015! According to WDW News Today this would include the actual lake, Gertie the Dinosaur and Min & Bill’s Dockside Diner, all of which have been a part of Disney’s Hollywood Studios since opening day when the park was known as Disney- MGM Studios. There have also been reports that Muppet Vision 3D could be on the chopping block along with ABC Sound Studios and SuperStar Television Theater.
As we’ve reported before all of these possible changes are coming to make way for the rumored Star Wars Land. We know Bob Iger has said there will be a larger “Star Wars” presence at the Disney Parks around the World, but as of now, everything is speculation.
What are your thoughts on the attractions that are on the possible chopping block or on Star Wars Land(s) coming to the Disney Parks?
No more MuppetVision!?! I love that show…Okay, the movie is kind of corny, but the in-theatre effects are really cool! I wonder if they could do something similar with a Star Wars theme?
I’m good with all of it but Muppets =( If it came down to it, Star Wars always wins but no more Kermit?
