On April 5th Guests were able to make reservations for the new Sense of Africa Tour that started on April 9th at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The one-of-a-kind tour is a true feast for all of the senses…taste, hearing, smell, touch and sight.
As Disney Parks Blog revealed, you will begin your 3.5 hour experience with a breakfast at Boma that includes South African dishes such as pap, a tangy porridge-like dish from South Africa, or turkey bobotíe. More familiar offerings, like everyone’s favorite Mickey waffles, are also on the breakfast menu.
After your amazing meal, you will experience encounters with animals such as okapi, giraffe, ostriches and red river hogs. You will get a peek backstage at how the animals at the lodge are fed and cared for. Guests will even get to create snack treats to hide for Red River hogs and then watch as they seek out the treats that were made especially for them. Animal keeper guides and trainers will provide you with a plethora of interesting information about Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and the savanna’s residents.
Tours will be held on Tuesday and Saturday and can be booked by contacting your Disney Vacation Planner or by calling 1-407-WDW-TOUR. The cost is $249.00 per person and discounts are available for DVC Members and Annual Passholders. Children must be at least 10 years of age to participate.
