Thanksgiving week is historically one of the busiest weeks at Disneyland Resort and with the Diamond Celebration continuing through the holiday season this year will be no exception!
Since the start of the Diamond Celebration, Disneyland has experienced record-breaking crowds and as the holidays approach Disneyland faces the possibility of reaching park capacity during peak season. When the Parks reach capacity they are forced to turn away all Guests, even those with tickets! Park officials are trying to prevent that by giving Guests twice the fireworks and double the parades!
On any given day Guests can be found staking out their perfect parade viewing spots as early as 5:00 P.M. for the late evening parade and firework spectaculars. This creates major congestion along the walkways and makes it difficult for Guests to move around. Park officials are hoping to ease these crowds with a new strategy this year. During the week of Thanksgiving (November 21 – 28, 2015) there will be 2 showings each of Disneyland Forever Fireworks, A Christmas Fantasy Parade, Paint the Night Parade and Fantasmic!.
DIStracted Tip: Make sure to check the daily events schedule before planning your trip!
If this works the way Disney Park officials hope, I would not be surprised if we see this strategy used in the future during peak times.
