Walt Disney World Resort Guests have a lot to consider when purchasing theme park tickets.
“How many days of park tickets do I need?”
“Do I want or need the Park Hopper Option?”
“Should I purchase the Water Park Fun & More Option?”
If you ask me: at least five days; and “no” if you’re a first-time visitor and “yes” if plan to visit a water park. But seriously, there are no hard and fast answers to these questions. It all depends on the family and how they plan to spend their time.
The last time I purchased the Water Park Fun & More Option was in 2009. It was part of a fantastic package offer in which we purchased four days of accommodations and theme park tickets and got three days of accommodations and theme park tickets free. (What?! You read that correctly my dear DIStracted readers!) I skipped this ticket option on my two most recent trips due to time constraints; however, the Water Park Fun & More Option is definitely in the cards for us on our upcoming family trip this fall.
For Guests who plan to visit a water park, this ticket option is a no-brainer. It comes down to dollars and cents. A one day ticket to either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach costs $58 plus tax. The Water Park Fun & More Option costs $64 per person. Let’s take a closer look at this ticket option.
DIStracted Tip: Guests can add this option to either a Base Ticket or to a ticket with the Park Hopper Option. If you add both the Park Hopper and Water Park Fun & More Option, Disney cuts you a break by charging only $90.
Guests who purchase the Water Park Fun & More Option can visit the following:
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park*
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park*
Winter Summerland Miniature Golf
Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf
DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
Guests planning to play a round of mini-golf must do so before 4 P.M. As with all multi-day theme park tickets, all entries must be used within 14 days of first use.
The number of visits are equivalent to the number of days on the ticket purchased. For example, with a 5-day ticket a Guest would have five visits to use over the course of their stay. Save for the miniature golf time restrictions, the Guest has total control over how and when to use the entries. Guests can choose to visit both water parks in one day, DisneyQuest the next night, and then, a few days later, play a round of mini-golf after a return visit to Blizzard Beach.
If paid of out of pocket, the above scenario would cost: $246.05 per adult!! Proof that while that $64 seems like a lot at the outset, it may end up saving you money in the long run.
DIStracted Tip: MagicBands are waterproof so Guests should not leave them in a locker. Disney PhotoPass Photographers are on hand to capture your memories at the water parks too!
