“If I win the lottery, I would…” I think that we’ve all said something like this. We all love to dream. At Walt Disney World, some of those dreams can come true. Some of them are pricier than others. Here are my top three splurges. I have not yet had the pleasure of trying #2, however, dreams can come true…
- Charter your own private yacht
The Grand 1 is a 52-foot Sea Ray Sedan Bridge Yacht that can accommodate up to 18 Guests. It is docked at the marina at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. You can charter this amazing yacht, complete with Captain and deckhand, for an amazing sail around the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. In 2003, my family was lucky enough to be able to do this. At that time, it was a different yacht, but just as grand. We were a large group and we were able to split the cost to make it happen. We scheduled the time of our sailing so that we could watch the evening fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. This experience will be forever etched into our memories. For an additional cost, you can also arrange private dining onboard. To book specialty cruises or get more information, you can call 407-WDW-PLAY.
DIStracted Tip: I understand that you are no longer allowed to venture onto the bow of the Grand 1, for safety reasons.
- VIP tour services
Have you ever wanted to feel like a star? Do you want to go to the front of a very long attraction line? Let your VIP tour guide know what you really want to see and they will make it happen for you and up to nine additional guests. Some of the amazing perks include door-to-door transportation to the Disney Park of your choosing (or choose multiple parks), VIP seating for parades or shows, and expedited entry to your favorite attractions. The cost of each Private Premium VIP Tour varies between $360 and $500 per hour, depending on the season and there is a minimum number of hours that must be booked. For more information or to make a reservation, please call (407) 560-4033.
- Signature dining
This one may be easier for the average person to splurge! The dining at the Walt Disney World Resort is amazing and there are so many choices. There is something for everyone’s taste (and wallet). But if you want to have a special meal, there are signature dining opportunities that will make your visit shine. If you using a Disney Dining Plan, most of these restaurants will require two table credits per person. From the fresh seafood and steak at the Flying Fish Café at Boardwalk Inn to the Californian cuisine at the California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (not to mention the view), you should be able to find something that will satisfy everyone in your group. Planning to celebrate a birthday or anniversary or other special event in your life, signature dining is a great way to do it. You can make reservations online, through My Disney Experience, or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.
What would be your big splurge?

Wow! The sailing idea sounds wonderful. I of course would like to add the dinner if I win the lottery.
I’m also up for VIP tours. I shall save my change.
