Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Speculations have been running wild about the closure of Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! for some time now. It was rumored to be closing at the end of 2014, and to the surprise of many, it is still going strong for the time being. Many still expect this show will be closed to make room for the rumored Star Wars area expansion.
It is also expected that the quick service restaurant Backlot Express will be redesigned to Star Wars themed. With all of the talk about a larger Star Wars area and the expected changes, it is also believed that Pizza Planet will finally be moved to its rightful spot in Pixar Place.
Another attraction on the rumored closure list is the show Beauty and The Beast Live. There have been rumors that a show based on the Disney movie “Tangled” could be replacing Beauty and the Beast, but now there is speculation about a “Frozen” show. With Disney’s Imagineers working on the new “Frozen” ride in Epcot, having a “Frozen” show would make sense as it would help keep the “Frozen” craze alive.
Epcot Theme Park
One of the biggest overlooked attractions in Epcot has got to be Ellen’s Universe of Energy in Future World. With many saying that the attraction is too long and in disrepair, rumors are popping up that it is possibly on its way out.
On a brighter note, it does look like one beloved ride in Epcot has been saved, at least for the time being. It was rumored that Journey into Imagination with Figment was going to closed in January, 2015, but with Disney focusing on the new “Frozen” ride in Norway it looks like Journey into Imagination with Figment has escaped for now.

Stop changing so much at once! Leave the beauty and the beast show alone.. My goodness. Why can’t you use some of the other places…..like where the Ellen show is and add the other shows as well.

I totally agree! My family hasn’t actually seen this show, I’m going to make sure we catch it on our next trip!

There are so many things that I remember from my childhood that still exist to this day. Indiana Jones, Beauty and the Beast, and Journey into Imagination are all favorites of mine. My wife and I just visited the park during New Years and we both loved seeing Indiana Jones again. She was selected as an extra for the show which is a memory that will never go away. Even though Journey into Imagination has changed, it is still my all time favorite attraction in all of Disney. I know that Disney has to change over time to include the modern, most popular but I don’t feel like they have to take away other top attractions that have thousands of memories attached to them. New memories and memories from my childhood were all shared while visiting all three of these attractions during New Years. I hope Disney can find someway to still incorporate these into any new plans should these rumors prove to be true at some point.

Don’t get rid of the Beauty and the Beast Show!

Figment is a favorite! Without Walt’s Imagination, there wouldn’t be an Epcot. Let’s Spark imagination, not kill it.

I totally agree. Disney is about imagination and these rides had it.
They need to continue to add new bits in to keep up with new films but they’re not short on space with these parks.
If there’s going to be any renovations, I’d actually like updates to Innovations in Epcot because it’s as if Imagineering has given up guessing what our future (technology, environment, thinking) might entail – as can be seen at the end of the Golf Ball ride where it’s pretty generic.
The old figment ride was better though. It highlighted the infinite possibilities of your imagination, these days it just about sensory memories and tells what your senses are.
I love Disney but I’m not sure a million Frozen rides is interesting enough. I, for one, would prefer the variety.

Beauty and The Beast is still attracting huge audiences and has arguably the best score of any Disney musical. That show is the best twenty minutes in Disney World.
Wanna replace stuff? Start with Captain EO!

Please don’t change to much. Looking forward in August to share these rides. Love Ellen, show can always updated. My grandson is seven And he loved going thru imagination. His hoping to see it in August. Make sure when you putting everything to Frozen (boys) are not into Frozen like the girls. How about something for boys. Not doing the cruise because its towards Frozen grandson says that for girls. 🙂 . I have been coming to Disney World for over thirty-five years. Always loved the place because it was well designed for people with handicap. My husband always love coming there because he could get on the rides. He was confined to his chair. You see Ellen has the dinosaurs. Just don’t change to much of the favorites. That’s why people come back for a reason. My granddaughter loves it she eleven now see all the princes etc. Need more stuff for boys
When you come to Disney World you forget about the outside world for a week or two.
Take Thanks Again

The last time I saw the Beauty and beast show I remember thinking this needs to be updated or changed . I wish they would bring elements of their Broadway shows into the theme parks.

I actually really like Ellen’s ride. I know it needs updates and is probably a very expensive undertaking but I have to say, I have never ever been on another ride like that one. I think it is so cool. I love “Driving” through the area with the dinos all around us…I just think its amazing. I wish they would update it, or fix it, but leave the same idea and attention to detail.

I enjoyed Beauty and The Beast Live. However, I do understand that they don’t have much for the widely popular Tangled. I think Speedway needs an update, and maybe if they move that to Hollywood with a starwar speeder theme would be perfect. Then use that space for something relating to the New Movie.
In hollywood studio, an update to Indiana Jones would be great. I enjoyed the stunt shows, even if their based on older movies. The stunt part is still very modern. I wouldn’t mind if they themed the stunt show Star Wars. Worst part of Hollywood Studios is their Pirates show.
Epcot got a couple shows that are outdated and a waste of time IMO.
Journey Into Imagination with Figment
Ellen’s Energy Adventure.
EO
I understand some people enjoy them, however with a Frozen ride opening in Norway and many of the sponsers dropping from out. I think they should think they’ll be thinking of moving more disney there. Wall-E, Wreck-it-Ralph, and Big Hero 6 are perfect examples that could easily fit into the areas .

I loved beauty and the beast when I went there as a child. I’d hate to see them take it away. I get that they need to update things and include the newer movies but why take away something that still draws a crowd? I also remember seeing Indiana Jones as a kid and my brother and I loved it. More girls are into frozen so if they do that then they need to do something for the boys too. I also remember it’s a small world being my favorite ride. My boyfriend and I are possibly going to honeymoon at Disney and I’d hate to see so much from my childhood change. I was looking forward to sharing these things with him.
Chris Evans says
U need to keep them open so we can pass it down to the next generation of what we enjoyed as we grow up with
Jennifer says
I am worried that Disney World is becoming frozen world! Figment has always been my favorite and whereas the ride now is not nearly as wonderful as the original figment ride, they tried taking figment out of Epcot once before and it was a very short-lived experiment. Keep what makes Disney world/Epcot/Hollywood studios magical and stop making it all about whatever the recent hit film is. Incorporate the new films but Forget where you came from.
Christen Francis says
I agree. I’m a huge fan of Frozen, but we do NOT need to have such a huge imprint on all of the parks! Thank goodness that AK has been safe… for now!
Mary jo says
They should update rock in coaster to a Tron themed trip through the cg world. The stint show should be a cars themed show. The beauty and the beast stage show should be a series if princess themed show by the same cast. They could do beauty, Mulan, Cinderella etc. maybe a character per day. Keep the crowds coming back. Should have turned Ellen’s studio at Epcot to a frozen on ice show. Would be lovely and cool!
