In recent years runDisney registration day has become a pretty big deal. I have seen the same question over and over again asking about tips for registration day. So I have compiled a short list of registration day tips and here they are!
5. Know the date of registration!
runDisney releases the dates for next year’s races at the start of the new year. Most of the races are run the same weekend each year. You can also check the dates on our runDisney page. We update the dates as soon as they are released!
4. Set up an Active.com account BEFORE registration day!
This is a big time-saver! One person can register multiple runners but each participant 18+ must have their own Active account. Set up your account a couple of days in advance. Waiting until registration day just adds to the stress of it all.
3. Be ready to go when registration opens!
runDisney registration opens at 12:00PM ET/9:00AM PT for each race and you better be ready! It may take a minute or so for registration to go live, so I like to be online no later than 8:55AM PT and refresh at 8:59AM. I have always been able to register for the race I want using this strategy. You may have to refresh a couple of times, but have patience. There are many other runners trying to register at the same time. Most will get in and be able to get the race(s) they want.
2. Don’t forget your commemorative items!
There are a few items that runDisney participants can order during registration, like the commemorative jackets, pins and even a necklace. Many of these items sell out, especially the jackets which are not sold at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo!
1. You’re registered! Now what?!?
You got in and got it done! You’re heart is still pumping with adrenaline, so what do you do now? It’s time to start focusing on your training and the most important part… Your COSTUME! It can be a simple t-shirt and shorts or you can go all out; it’s your choice. My first runDisney race was the Star Wars 10k and I wore a simple Chewbacca dress with leggings. For my last runDisney races I went all out, well at least all out for me. There was hot glue involved, so you know it was a big deal! And don’t forget to HAVE FUN!
