Universal Orlando has released details on the relaunch of The Incredible Hulk Coaster at its Islands of Adventure Park. Those of us who were hoping it would relaunch over Memorial Day Weekend will have to wait a little bit longer. At this time no date has been released, however, Universal is now saying “Late Summer.”
According to the Universal Orlando Blog “The only things you’ll recognize when The Incredible Hulk Coaster at Universal’s Islands of Adventure re-opens in late summer are the world-famous twists and turns of the ride track.” At the entrance of the coaster, Guests will find a giant figure of The Hulk holding pieces of track from the original ride.
We are told there will be a completely new storyline where guests are warned by General Thaddeus Ross they will be subjected to high levels of gamma radiation through a process called Hulk-a-fication. Apparently the end result gives subjects magnificent strength and a forceful amount of energy. The entire building has been redesigned as a state-of-the-art military research compound. Guests will pass by laboratories with high-tech equipment used by General Ross and his team as they conduct their bio-radiological experiments. In the end, you will be rushed to a loading platform where you will “prepare for the ride of your life.”
Guests will board entirely new ride vehicles with a sleek, modern new look. The new vehicles all have in-seat audio systems that will play an original ride score created by Patrick Stump, front man for the rock band Fall Out Boy.
Guests will rocket through a new launch tunnel with all new amazing special effects as they are propelled out over Marvel Super Hero Island. According to Universal “It’s the ride you love, but not like you’ve ever known it before!” Stay tuned to Magical DIStractions as we will keep you up to date on the latest news related to the opening of this much anticipated ride!
