In an earlier post, I described how to use the Uber ride share service around Orlando. Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about using Uber in Walt Disney World Resort and Orlando:

1. Can Uber pick me up at the airport?

Uber just announced that Uber Black, their luxury car option, is available for pickups at the Orlando airport! You will see this option when you request an Uber from your app at the airport. Once you request Uber, contact your driver to coordinate your pickup. Your ride will wait for you in the Express Pickup Tunnel on Level 1 near the rental car counters. Uber Black is a more expensive option so you might want to get a fare estimate. If you are light on luggage, you can take a free airport shuttle to an offsite rental car property, and request a pickup from the less expensive Uber X.

2. Can Uber take me to the airport?

Yes! Uber X (the less expensive option) can drive you to the airport and is a great alternative to Disney’s Magical Express which requires a pickup much earlier than I would prefer.

3. Does Disney allow Uber drivers on property?

Yes! Uber drivers are welcome throughout Disney.

4. Are car seats available in Uber?

UberFamily, a service that allows users to request a vehicle with a car seat, is not currently in available in Orlando. 

     5.  What type of fares can I expect?

Here are some sample fares:

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort to Disney’s Contemporary Resort: $7-$10

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to Magic Kingdom: $10-$14

7. Can I add a tip for my Uber driver?

Uber X drivers cannot accept tips through the app. You are encouraged to tip cash. Some Uber drivers are now accepting credit card tips through Square.
