Are you tired of waiting on a bus to arrive when you’re on a Walt Disney World vacation? Well, your wait may be coming to an end!
If you’ve been to Walt Disney World recently you may have noticed LCD displays installed throughout select resort hotel bus stops. Disney has began running tests to determine bus travel times using long range readers. These readers track guests as they enter and depart the bus, using the RFID chip in the Magic Band.
Currently this test is being used on the buses that run between Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and the Magic Kingdom. Once testing is complete, Disney will begin a wide spread rollout that will allow guests to see wait times for the buses. Have you used this system? If so, what are your thoughts?

Wish they were “testing” this at Pop! LOL I think this is a great idea! I loved the screens last year at POR. They were pretty much always correct as far as the timing for the next bus.

After waiting a long time for a bus , you have to stand up for the trip … Ugh …maybe Disney could do something about this like maybe setting up individual transportation … I would definitely be willing to pay for this !

As a certified Walt Disney World bus driver for 10 years now I strongly advise you and all Walt Disney World owned and operated resorts as well as those guests staying at The Walt Disney World Swan and The Walt Disney World Dolphin to make to verify with each driver they meet whether they are going to their destination or not. Service times vary throughout the day based on guest flow. Service to the parks in the morning is more frequent than it is at noon. Each driver also drives differently based their guests. Thank you.
