The most anticipated day of the year for Disney fans is here! The 2017 Walt Disney World Free Dining discounts are available to book. As reported in our Free Dining Rumor post, there are some significant changes to this year’s offer.

Walt Disney World Free Dining Is Here!

As expected, Walt Disney Travel Company released the 2017 Walt Disney World Free Dining discounts early this morning. Most of the rumored details were accurate.

Disney World Free Dining Travel Dates

In order to be eligible for Free Dining guests must be traveling to the Walt Disney World on one of the following dates:

August 21- September 30

November 14-20

November 25-27

December 8-23

Excluded Resorts

The following Walt Disney World Resort hotels have been excluded from the Free Dining Offer:

• Campsites
• 3-Bedroom Villas
• Art of Animation Resort – The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms
• Polynesian Villas & Bungalows – Bungalows
• All Star Movies Resort
• Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
• Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
• The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
• Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

**  Additional exclusion for November and December travel dates: 

• Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

2017 Notable Changes

There are three fairly significant changes to the 2017 Walt Disney World Free Dining offer. We previously mentioned each of these in our rumored article:

• The only guests to receive the Disney Dining Plan free are those staying in select Disney Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villa Resorts. Previously this was offered to all guests staying in Deluxe and Moderate Resorts. This year guests staying in Value and Moderate Resorts will receive the Quick-Service Dining Plan free, with the option to upgrade.

• The rumors were in fact true, there are a significant number of resorts excluded from this year’s offer. Surprisingly, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is on the chopping block. In years past we have seen Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside OR French Quarter Resort excluded, but not both at the same time. This is going to be very inconvenient for guests looking for a Moderate Resort stay as both Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort are under extensive refurbishment.

• Thirdly, the ENTIRE month of October is completely excluded from the offer. Given the popularity of the month of October with the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, this isn’t too hard to believe.

 Other Fall Discounts

If you find yourself ineligible for the Free Dining offer check and see if you can apply the Enchanted Escape Room Discount. Guests can save up to 25%* on rooms at select Walt Disney World® Resort hotels for stays most nights August 1 – October 7, 2017.  The following resorts are excluded from the offer: All 3-bedroom villas, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows – Bungalows, Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
