There is nothing worse than planning for a Walt Disney World vacation for months (sometimes even years) and arriving to find out your favorite attraction is closed for refurbishment! Each week I will update you with the latest refurbishment announcements straight from Walt Disney World in an effort to prevent this from happening to you!
Currently in the Magic Kingdom all attractions are up and running with the next scheduled refurbishment to begin on December 7 (Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover). All attractions are open in Disney’s Animal Kingdom as well. Meanwhile, Jedi Training Academy in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is scheduled to reopen tomorrow (November 30) after a lengthy refurbishment. Currently the Re-Imagination of the Maelstrom is underway in Epcot. The new attraction, Frozen Ever After, is scheduled to open on April 30, 2016. Also in Epcot, Sum of all Thrills will be closing tomorrow for a quick refurbishment (November 30-December 4). Disney’s Blizzard Beach is currently closed for its annual refurbishment (through January 2).
Several ongoing resort refurbishments continue this week at Boardwalk Inn, Caribbean Beach, Polynesian Village Resort, Port Orleans French Quarter, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Wilderness Lodge, and Buena Vista Palace. A brief refurbishment of the Computer Pool at Pop Century will begin tomorrow (November 30 – December 3). Upcoming refurbishments scheduled for the Walt Disney World Resort include:

*The Walt Disney World® Resort Monorail System will undergo refurbishment that will impact the Express monorail beam, which runs between the Ticket & Transportation Center and the Magic Kingdom. Express beam shutdowns will occur between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Resort beam will continue to run during downtimes. Guests arriving at the Ticket & Transportation Center during downtimes will be directed to the ferry boats.
