Warm Hugs and Red Carpets! New Character Experiences Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Big changes are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Some of the news is exciting such as the possibility of a new name for the park and the fact that both Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land are in the works!  Along with the good news came some sad news as well like the announcement of the closures of fan favorites such at Lights, Motor, Action! Extreme Stunt Show,  Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, Monsters Inc. Meet and Greet, Studios Catering Company and the Streets of America. As DIStracted team member, Renee V. wrote,  it is also being reported that the iconic Earful Tower will be coming down.

Disney, however, knows that they must keep the Guests coming to the park while these major changes are taking shape. Recently, there was the addition of Club Villain and Season of the Force. Today, we are here to let you know that Disney will be adding new character greeting experiences to the Park!

Making his debut will be Olaf from the blockbuster hit, Frozen. Guests  can step into scenes with some of their favorite Disney characters, as they live out their Hollywood dreams. Coming in Spring, 2016 to the Echo Lake district at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the all-new Celebrity Spotlight which is  the perfect place for a dream encounter with one of Disney’s latest stars. Guests will be invited to step into the Celebrity Spotlight for a meet with Olaf who is living his dream “In Summer,” chilling on the beach and ready with warm hugs!

Located off Commissary Lane, will be the other new character greet experience, “Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams,” which also debuts in Spring, 2016. Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse will be living their dream of being A-List stars. Guests walk the red carpet and step right into a scene with Minnie, “where she appears as a Tinsel Town starlet in a ritzy setting straight out of a lush and colorful musical extravaganza. Nearby, you will find Mickey portraying his iconic role of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice from “Fantasia” (Excerpt from Disney Parks Blog)

While I know that most of us will miss the greets with Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc., it is exciting to hear that new character greeting experiences are coming soon!
