We asked and you answered … here are the survey results of the best thrill rides at SeaWorld Orlando!
The ride that tops the poll is … KRAKEN!
What can I say? SeaWorld may not be what one would think of as a typical theme park, but they do have some awesome rides and attractions. It was no surprise to me that Kraken came out on top of the reader survey as it constantly tops the lists of ride enthusiasts. Kraken is named after a mythical sea creature which was caged by Poseidon, and it’s also a monster of a coaster! It has the longest drops with the biggest being 144 feet! Kraken stands at 151 feet tall and at 4,177 feet long; it dominates the SeaWorld skyline.
“Other” rides came in second place. One of those may have been Wild Arctic which is one of my personal favorites. Guests will go on a daring adventure as they experience a thrilling jet-helicopter ride through the frozen north. You’ll “land” at “Base Station Wild Arctic—a place where magnificent beluga whales and walruses have turned Mother Nature’s most challenging conditions into a polar playground!” (Excerpt from the SeaWorld Orlando website.)
If you are looking for something more relaxing and not so hair raising, the Paddle Boat experience is another great attraction.
Journey to Atlantis and Shamu Express tied for third place. Journey to Atlantis was one of the first rides featured at SeaWorld.
Next in line is Manta which is another personal favorite. Unlike any coaster at a Disney theme park, on Manta you are not sitting down! You lay face down which gives the feeling you are flying. Manta sends you soaring at speeds of 56 miles per hour along its 3,359 foot track. The combination of drops, twists, turns and weightlessness make for an amazing and exhilarating ride.
Last, but not least, is the Sky Tower. This one is good if you just want to slow down after watching amazing shows and riding hair raising rides. Constructed in 1973, the Sky Tower is an observation tower which allows Guests to see the amazing sights of SeaWorld from 400 feet. Haven’t been on it? You should try it out. It’s great to see the beautiful view from such a height, and it’s a great place to escape the Florida sun for a little bit.
It will be great to see what the most favorite ride will be among Guests once the new Mako ride opens. Mako is preparing to rise from the depths of the ocean and soar over the skyline of SeaWorld this summer.
