Located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is a quaint little restaurant that serves Pan Asian food with big flavors!
My husband and I made a lunch reservation for 11:00 a.m. We were seated at a cute little table for 2 in an upstairs area with big windows perfect for people watching. We started our meal with a few frosty beverages, (it was hot out so we really needed them!) The Safari Amber for my husband.
The Rickshaw Rickie for me. This was a wonderfully refreshing drink with the perfect amount of sweetness and alcohol.
For our appetizer we ordered the Pan Seared Pork Pot Stickers served with a Soy Lime Dipping Sauce. The flavor of these was really great but they were a little soggy. The sauce was ok. I wish there was a bit more lime to it but still good. While these weren’t the best pot stickers I have ever had they certainly weren’t the worst and I would get them again.
The main reason I came to this restaurant was to try the Ahi Tuna Nachos. I’ve heard about these nachos from so many Disney Foodies that I knew I had to add them to my “Foodie Bucket List”. My husband stays away from almost all green things (except for avocados and green beans) so I knew I was going to ask for the Asian Slaw on the side. The waitress looked at me a bit funny but said she would let them know. When she brought our nachos to us the Chef put everything on the side. I was actually happy the Chef did this because then we could each make our own plates. These weren’t your standard nachos. They were very refreshing, not like your standard heavy nachos! These are deep fried wontons, Sushi grade Ahi Tuna, Asian Slaw, Wasabi Aioli, and a Sweet Soy Glaze. The tuna was cool and flavorful, the Slaw gave it the perfect amount of crunch, the Wasabi Aioli was creamy with just a bit of heat, and the Sweet Soy Glaze made the whole balance of flavors complete with a hint of sweetness.
For our Entrée my husband chose the Chicken Tiki Masala. We were told this was a bit spicy. I didn’t think it was too bad (and I generally don’t like spicy food). The Naan was warm and soft. I really enjoyed this dish!
I highly recommend Yak and Yeti! The food is flavorful and the service is fantastic!
Distracted Tip: Yak and Yeti accepts the Disney Dining Plan and while it does not accept Tables in Wonderland, it does offer a 10% discount for Annual Passholders and DVC members.
