UPDATE: AS OF FEBRUARY 2016 THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED~
We all have them … Disney DVDs or Blu-Rays that no longer work. The Disney disc replacement program is a blessing many do not know is available and can save you money! Whether they are scratched from being played 101 times or have teeth marks from those little teething monsters known as toddlers Walt Disney Studios will replace DVDs or Blu-Rays that no longer work for a small charge of $6.95 for a DVD and $8.95 for a Blu-Ray.
I heard about the disc replacement program years ago and always had the best intentions of sending back the handful of DVDs that we have that skip every time we try to play them.
My son loved Bolt when he was one of those teething monsters and our copy has a few war wounds because of it. He still tries to watch it and gets extremely upset when it starts skipping and eventually freezes … Well, I am finally going to send back our Bolt DVD to see how the program actually works.
To get your damaged DVDs or Blu-Rays replaced, all you have to do is fill out the disc replacement form, send the damaged disc and check or money order ($6.95 for a DVD or $8.95 for a Blu-Ray) payable to WDSHE to the address below.

It can take 4 to 6 weeks for the disc replacement program office to receive and process each submission, so I will come back to update once I’ve received our new Bolt DVD!
UPDATE November 20, 2015!
I got my NEW Bolt DVD today in the mail! It took a little longer than 6 weeks because somehow I totally forgot to send the check for $6.95 with the broken DVD… Totally my fault! Luckily, Walt Disney Studios sent me an email letting me know there was a small problem with my order and asking me to call as soon as possible. I called on Friday, November 13, 2015 to resolve the issue and gave them a credit card number to pay the replacement fee.
The replacement process was super easy and much cheaper than paying retail for a new DVD. I will definitely use this service again in the near future!
